This event is being organized by the South Central Texas Chapter of the
POCI.
We are coordinating the event with the track, and try to make the racing
events a fun night for everyone. We try not to push a lot of rules.
There are a few basic guidelines:
- BOP powered vehicles, or BOP badged cars with GM corporate engines.
- Cars don't have to be street legal, but they obviously must pass the track
tech check-in.
- Request footbrake on your cars only, no electronics please. It levels out
the playing field.
- 3 brackets: < 11.99, 12.00 - 14.99, > 15.00
- No buybacks.
Between rounds of the Shootout, the track opens up to everyone. Participants
can usually get upwards of 10-15 passes in for the night. So, even if you go
out of the Shootout in the 1st round, you can still make as may passes as
you want between rounds till the track closes.
Gates open up at 6pm, and racing usually starts 7:30-8:00. The fee is the
standard $30 a car, and with that is entry to the track and entry into the
Shootout. The track has in the past provided trophies for the winners of
each bracket. I assume they are going to do the same this time.
Our club has always cooked burgers & dogs for participants, and only request
from the racers a little donation if you eat to help pay for the food.
this Saturday the fastest cars around will be at Houton Motorsports Park
Friday and Saturday, June 5 and 6
Lake Somerville, Texas
Open to 1980 and Older cars, trucks, hot rods and customs.
A little later to share, but you never know............
9:00 to 2:00 in the Historic downtown Montgomery Texas..I believe $25.00 entry.
